SN+MAC setup
- Login to WebUI
- Go to: System Tools → ONT Authentication
- Select “Password”
- Set “SN”
- Apply
- Set MAC address on network adapter of your router that connected to ethernet port
Notes
- If something not work - probably you need to update F/W, HG8310M_V3R015C10S106_ENG.bin also known as 1-HG8310M-106-ENG.bin
- VLAN tagging depend on profile provided by ISP, in some cases tcpdump or other sniffing tool may be required to find proper VLANS, some times internet VLAN untagged and no extra actions required.

Tenda HG1
Work in SFU (media converter: GPoN↔ethernet) mode and HGU (router mode) (IPoE, PPPoE) (IPv4, IPv6 supported).
Device is hot while it work, do not recommend use it places with 25C+.

SN+MAC setup
- Unplug fiber optic (to prevent reboots)
- Login to WebUI
- Go to: Admin → ACL
- Set “ACL Capability” to “Disable” and “Apply changes”
- Download file: ftp://admin:admin@192.168.1.1/var/config/lastgood_hs.xml and backup it
- In working copy of “lastgood_hs.xml” replace “PON_VENDOR_ID” to original IPS~s terminal vendor, for “Huawei” set “HWTC”
- Upload modified “lastgood_hs.xml” file back to device
- Reboot device
- Open http://192.168.1.1/tddeviceinfo.asp and set S/N to original IPS~s terminal S/N. Expected 12 symbol in format: “HWTC12345678”, where “HWTC” is “PON_VENDOR_ID” that was set in “lastgood_hs.xml” file. MAC address change required only in case HGU (router mode).
- Open “WAN” and add “new link”.
- If link is “Bridget” than set MAC address on network adapter of your router that connected to ethernet port
